8bar team season recap 2015
8bar team (from l to r): Maxe, Tim, Stefan, Antonia, Christin, Max, Paul, Sebstian (not on the picture)
The 8bar team looks back to a very successful season 2015. In a total of over 60 participations in races all over the world the 8bar team attained over 40 Top 10 results, 25 podium positions and 12 victories, including the Red Hook Crit. With this great success the 8bar riders are stoked for next years seasons already.
We still reminisce on some of the events…
Fixed42 World Championship
One season highlight definitely was the Fixed42 World championship in Berlin. The race, organized by friends of the Rad Pack (rad-race.com), took riders with an average speed over 40 km/h through the streets of Berlin. Christin won the women category, Tim became second and the 8bar team all together became “Team World Champion”.
National Moutarde Crit
The “National Moutarde Crit” in Dijon, France was another awesome experience. It is one of the biggest Fixed Gear races in Europe and was the race where Tim met 8bar almost exactly one year earlier in 2014 and became part of the 8bar team. Stefan, Paul, Sebastian and Tim raced through very hard conditions in heavy rain with a strong starting field. In the end Tim won and so it’s not surprising why it’s his personal highlight of 2015.
Red Hook Crit Series
The Red Hook Criterium Series, which is the biggest Fixed Gear series in the world and the highlight for each Fixed Gear rider. It’s outstanding in many ways: may it be the atmosphere, the difference of every race or the variety of riders and skill levels it brings together. In 2015 the 8bar team raced in London, Barcelona and Milan. Tim managed to make it on 5th position in Barcelona and 6th in Mailand. With Paul also racing into the points the 8bar team finished 10th overall, what makes it the fastest german team at the Red Hook Criterium.
There will be some news coming soon for 2016. So stay tuned!

Sponsors of the 8bar team
So it’s also time to thank our sponsors for making it possible to get our riders to races all across Europe.
The 8bar team started to collaborate with adidas cycling in 2015. Adidas is a great partner and beside sponsoring we also collaborate with them at bike shows and product development. Adidas cycling offers unique cycling wear that matches perfectly the 8bar team design and the adidas race suits make the riders even faster!
Beside that we are fully equipped with adidas cycling apparel range for training rides.
DT Swiss is our second sponsor and are well known for high-end bike parts. The RC55 carbon track wheels are perfect for fast criterium races as well as technical courses. The super light, aero carbon wheels help the riders to give it the last little push before the finish line, that often makes a difference between victory and loss.
DT Swiss also offers a wide range of other wheelsets for Road-, Cyclocross- or Mountain-Bikes. Below you see the DT Swiss RC32 Spline wheelset at one of our 8bar Mitte Prototype bikes.
Support for the 8bar team
Beside our sponsors we got well supported by several brands.
Kappstein are well known for their strength and high quality sprockets. Beside that 8bar x Kappstein developed together a custom chainring which was tested in 2015 at races around the globe. Thanks to Kappstein the 8bar riders can trust their legs and don’t have to worry about loss of strength.
Even on short distance races a confortable saddle is what matters a lot! Thanks to Selle San Marco saddles comfort doesn’t has to be compromised with an unique race shape and light-weight design.
Helmets are mendatory in any bikes race the 8bar riders participate. It’s not just to protect their head in case of a crash, it also helps an aerodynamic position and to be honest it’s also a bit about style that matters as well. With Kask helmets we get awesome support and a headwear that fit all of those needs.
You can push as hard as you whish, if you don’t get enough grip on the surface, you will loose at some point. Continental tyres support the 8bar team with their “Gatorskins” which help the riders many times to take turns other riders couldn’t think of. Especially when conditions on the road are rough, it’s all wet and spliperly e.g., with those tires the 8bar riders are able to stick to their race lines and go fast into every turn still.
adidas eyewear gives the best possible sight under any conditions.
