Die 8bar NIGHT BIKES, bekannt aus dem BlackBerry Bold 9900 Werbespot, haben einen sogenannten "Glow in the dark" Effekt. Durch eine spezielle Beschichtung lässt sich das Rad durch Sonnenlicht oder künstliches Licht aufladen und gibt dieses dann in Dunkelheit wieder ab. Ein besonders starker Nachleuchteffekt kann durch die Aufladung mit UV Licht erzeugt werden. Die Leuchtkraft ist direkt nach der Aufladung am stärksten und schwächt mit der Zeit ab. 

Eine Straßenzulassung nach STVZO für das Rad besteht nicht.

The 8bar NIGHT BIKES, as known from the BlackBerry Bold 9900 commercial,  have a "Glow in the dark" effect. Because of a special surface treatment you can charge your bike with sunlight or artifical light. Afterwards the bike will emit the light in darkness. The strongest effect can be achieved by charging it with UV light. The effect is really strong at the beginning and decreases from time to time.

There is no MOT approval for the bike. Please check your local rights.
